It is said that long long ago there was a man who had much wealth.He had two sons,they lived a happy life together every day.However,the man passed away one day.His two sons divided the heritage.The elder brother occupied a great large part,he just left his younger brother a worthless stone land.The younger brother accepted it.But he got nothing from that land,since it couldn’t plant anything.So he was quite poor.One day,he had eaten nothing for several days,and he asked help from the elder.But the elder was very mean.Although he had lots of money,he gave nothing to his younger brother.The younger sat on the road and cried sadly.Then it was found by the emperor in the heaven.He asked a god to know what had happened.When he learnt about the details,the emperor was angry with the elder brother.In addition,he gave some seeds of Daffodils to the younger brother.The seeds were magical,only the younger brother could plant them,others were not able to do it.When the younger brother planted those seeds,a lot of beautiful daffodils grew.Many people loved them,they bought daffodils from him.But if they wanted to plant daffodils,they must buy seeds every year.As the seeds they left were useless.So the poor brother made a great amount of money with daffodils.And to others’ surprises,the elder became poorer and poorer gradually.The kind younger brother gave him some seeds every year,but the daffodils he planted were bad.From this story,we can also know that kind people will always get good results.
From then on,in some southern districts,people regard daffodils as the flower of wealth.They plant them before,appreciating in the Spring Festival.People hope to make more money in that year.And daffodils stand for their good wishes for future and life.
